SLDO had the privilege of meeting Leslie who has suffered from with Cystic Fibrosis his whole life. Both Leslie and his brother Nathan underwent double lung transplants while in their 20s. Leslie’s transplant failed and he received a second lung transplant several years ago. When we met Leslie, he was waiting to receive a second double lung transplant.
The money received from the SLDO grant went to purchasing Leslie a CPAP machine which helped him breath.
UPDATE: Unfortunately shortly after meeting Leslie, he passed away. Our thoughts remain with his family and friends.
