Toni Taylor

Toni Taylor

Toni Taylor was SLDO Assist’s first interstate grant recipient. Brett and Glen flew down to Sydney to meet with Toni who had recently received a heart transplant. Toni was diagnosed with severe dilated cardiomyopathy. In the last year before Toni’s transplant, she spent 5 weeks at home, with the remaining time spent in hospital or hospital accommodation. For 8 weeks after her transplant, Toni still had to remain in hospital accommodation while she had rehab and learned how to live with a heart transplant.

Finally receiving this transplant will enable Toni to go home to be with her family and finally live a more normal life.

The SLDO Assist grant assisted in covering some of the expensive medical bills associated with the heart transplant process

UPDATE: Unfortunately shortly after meeting with SLDO, Toni passed away. We are privileged to have met Toni and are grateful for the relationship we have with her husband Chris.
